The Viet Moon Festival has adopted this Code of Conduct to ensure a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all participants, volunteers, vendors, performers, staff, and visitors. This Code exists to protect the safety, integrity, and reputation of the festival and everyone involved. By attending or participating in any capacity, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
General Overview
All participants, volunteers, and attendees shall:
- Prioritize the safety, health, and well-being of themselves and others.
- Act in ways that uphold the dignity and welcoming spirit of the Viet Moon Festival.
- Treat everyone with respect, without discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, colour, nationality, religion, gender, age, marital status, ability, income, education, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other personal characteristic.
- Respect and protect any personal, sensitive, or confidential information they may access in the course of festival operations.
Harassment & Discrimination
The Viet Moon Festival will not tolerate harassment or discrimination in any form. This includes physical, verbal, or non-verbal behaviour that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment. Sexual harassment is strictly prohibited and includes unwanted sexual comments, gestures, advances, or physical contact.
Retaliation
No person shall retaliate against anyone who, in good faith, reports behaviour that violates this Code, assists in an investigation, or speaks out against inappropriate conduct.
False or Malicious Complaints
While all reports will be taken seriously, knowingly false or malicious complaints may result in removal from the festival or other consequences deemed appropriate by festival organizers.
Discipline
Anyone found to have violated this Code may be subject to:
- Immediate removal from the festival grounds
- Banning from future events
- Referral to law enforcement if behaviour is illegal
Reporting a Concern
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, you are encouraged to speak up. All reports will be handled respectfully and, where possible, confidentially.
- Notify the nearest Festival Volunteer or Security Team member
- Visit the Information / First Aid Tent to make a report
- For serious incidents, security or organizers may contact local authorities
